In addition to surfing, kayaking is perhaps the fastest growing activity in Fiji. A kayaking holiday combines the best elements of Fiji -- the natural beauty of the land and seascape plus the hospitality of the inhabitants. Though the scene is constantly changing to the best of my knowledge kayaking trips are available in Taveuni, Vanua Levu, Kadavu and the Yasawa Group.

Those interested in exploring the Taveuni coast as well as some of the offshore islands may want to paddle along with Keni Madden (a native of Taveuni) who operates Ringgold Reef Kayaking. He runs 5-12 night camping tours from June through September to Qamea, Yanuca and when weather permits down the magnificent east coast of Taveuni. A six metre support boat is used on tours should any trouble arise. In North America contact them at (510) 336-0427 or in Fiji at 880083. They also have day rentals next to Beverly Camping near Matei (near the airstrip). Prices are US$1000 per person for a 5 day trips. Email TC Donovan for information TeeceDon@aol.com.
